EGM - 06 Feb 2010

THE SUNBURY HOCKEY CLUB EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HAVE CALLED AN EGM SATURDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 6.30PM (after the England rugby match) It is proposed that Sunbury Hockey Club merges with Walton and Weybridge Hawks. The merger would be effective from 2010/2011 season.
The reasons for the merger are:
The combined club will field stronger adult sides.
There will be 12 adult teams, 8 Men and 4 Ladies.
There will be more revenue generated resulting in a reduced subscription.
St Pauls School give full usage of the pitch to Walton and Weybridge at a reduced rate on a Saturday.
Colts currently have 152 members and will have sole use of the pitch on a Sunday.
2011/2012 season SHC will not have use of HCC.
Both Adult and Colts committees have given full support of the merger between the two clubs.
SSA affiliation will still exist for all members of the merged club. This will be via a social membership and be included in the overall subscription. The grass pitch at Kenton Court Meadow will be available for use and will be hired out to the merged club by the SSA. Currently there is a combined committee consisting of senior officers of SHC committee and W&W HC who will manage the transition.
We have also reached phase two of an England Hockey Funding opportunity to relay a 'state of the art' pitch surface at St Pauls.
Any further queries or apologies to be sent to Nicky McAndrew Honorary Secretary.
